#MAKESOMENOISE HITS NEW BENCHMARK FOR THE BAGGIES!

101db RECORDED IN AWAY END AT ANFIELD ON SATURDAY

In what is proving to be the year of the underdog in the English Premier League, West Brom fans hit new heights on Saturday as the quest to #MakeSomeNoise, driven by online partner Netbet.com, hit a mighty 101dB in the away end at Anfield during their 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Saturday.

With this recording beating the 94dB recorded at the Hawthorns on Saturday 5th December during the 1-1 with Spurs, the benchmark of 84dB set by Manchester United fans in 2014 has been smashed and resigned to history.

Netbet’s Master of Ceremonies Greg Scott said: “We are drawing the campaign to a close for the year and are delighted that 101 dB was reached in the away end at Anfield on Saturday.  In a Premier League season where the so-called minnows are showing the big boys how to do it on and off the pitch we are proud of the vocal efforts of Baggies supporters.  The home support in the cauldron that is Anfield probably helped raise the decibel levels but this recording was heavily focused on the away West Bromwich Albion supporters.”

“Overall West Brom fans came very close to equalling the 102dB record for the #MAKESOMENOISE campaign recorded at England v Australia at Twickenham during the Rugby World Cup and have shown the prawn sandwich brigades at the bigger clubs what it is to truly and passionately get behind their team,” added Greg.

Alexandre Mangaud from NetBet said: “This has been a great fun initiative – recent results have given Baggies supporters something to shout about more than ever so we hope for more of the same in 2016!  These decibel recordings prove something we have known for quite some time – that Baggies fans are amongst the loudest and most passionate in the country!”

An official survey compiled by the Press Association in November 2014 rated Baggies fans as joint second loudest fans in the league, in terms of decibels (78dB), together with Spurs, behind Manchester United (84 dB).  This statistic is well and truly in the past now though as the Netbet bus and girls have been out in force up and down the country most of the year handing out megaphones and much, much more on a matchday to fire up the Baggies fans!

The Netbet #MakeSomeNoise campaign has been out in force at The Hawthorns this season and at the Rugby World Cup.  To get a flavour of the campaign grab your headphones check out Dice London’s YouTube Channel.
